Many years of practical experience with equipment
1.etching Method selection: There are mainly two types of metal etching methods based on the contact form between the workpiece and the solution, namely spray type and immersion type. There are two principles for selecting etching methods.
(1) Production volume: Spray etching has high efficiency, fast speed, and high precision, suitable for production in certain batches. It is easy to achieve automated control in production, but the equipment investment is large, and it is not suitable for etching opposite and large workpieces. Immersion etching equipment has small investment, convenient etching, and a wide range of applicable workpieces, but it is not suitable for large-scale production. At the same time, immersion etching has slower speed and relatively lower efficiency than spray etching, and the production process is not easy to achieve automated control.
(2) Workpiece shape and size: Due to equipment limitations, spray etching is difficult to perform on large workpieces, while immersion etching is not affected by workpiece size. The shape of the workpiece is complex, and some parts may not be able to be sprayed during spraying, which affects the normal production of etching. However, the immersion type is to immerse the entire workpiece in the etching solution. As long as the dynamics between the etching solution and the workpiece are maintained, it can ensure that all parts of the opposite sex workpiece can be filled with etching solution and continuously replaced with new and old solutions, so that etching can proceed normally.
For small or nearly flat workpieces, if conditions permit, spray etching is superior to immersion etching in terms of efficiency and accuracy. Therefore, for workpieces with large batch sizes, moderate workpiece sizes (depending on the equipment), and simple planar shapes, spray etching is preferred; If the shape of the workpiece is relatively large and difficult to use an etching machine, and the shape of the workpiece is complex and the batch size is not large, it is advisable to use immersion type.
2. Selection of etching equipment
No matter what etching method is used, it is essential to have the corresponding etching equipment. For spray etching, it is necessary to purchase a suitable etching machine. There are also non transmission jet etching machines for transmission etching machines. Transmission etching machines are suitable for mass production, while non transmission jet etching machines are suitable for small and medium-sized production. These types of etching machines are generally difficult to make in-house and must be customized at the equipment factory or purchased in the equipment market. The principle of selecting an etching machine is mainly determined by the production volume, which refers to the average daily production volume that can be estimated over a period of time.
If immersion etching is used, a certain volume of etching tank is required, and the material of the etching tank body depends on the properties of the etching solution. For alkaline etching, stainless steel material is mostly used, and insulation devices should be paid attention to. For acidic etching systems, PP material can be used for production. For large etching tanks, stainless steel with a soft PP lining can be used for production.
